H. C. R. 1002--"Naming the bridge at Fenwick in Nicholas
County, West Virginia, at the junction of Routes 39 and 20, "The
Garrett Bragg Memorial Bridge."
Whereas, Mr. Bragg served as a conservation officer for the
State of West Virginia for twenty-four years; and
Whereas, Mr. Bragg was honored by his peers as conservation
officer of the year in 1976; and
Whereas, Mr. Bragg served his country as a pilot during
World War II; and
Whereas, Mr. Bragg was a lifelong resident of the Fenwick
area and continued to be an asset to his community after his
retirement by preserving the history of the area by authoring the
"Fenwick Folks Facts"; and
Whereas, It is the desire of the Tri-County Bear Hunters and
the citizens of Fenwick to honor, commemorate and recognize Mr.
Garrett Bragg by naming the bridge in his honor; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That the bridge at Fenwick in Nicholas County, West
Virginia, be named "The Garrett Bragg Memorial Bridge"; and, be
it
Further Resolved,
That the Clerk of the House of Delegates
is hereby directed to forward a copy of this resolution to Mrs.
Bragg, the Governor, and the Secretary of the Department of
Transportation.
